Special Meeting - May 16

The Intercity Transit Authority scheduled a special meeting for May 16. The agenda will be to review the composition of the governing body of the Public Transit Benefit Area (PTBA), which is required every four years by legislation. The legislation creating PBTA requires that this review be conducted at a special meeting of the county legislative authority and an elected representative of each city within the PTBA boundaries.

We surveyed people at community events, on bus rides, through our website and other efforts. We reached out to a wide variety of people, including those who use transit every day, to those who’ve never even considered using one of our services. We received over 10,000 comments from over 3,500 individual participants. Read what people had to say.

"Poetry Rides the Bus" Brings Literary Art to Thurston County Residents

The City of Olympia Parks, Arts & Recreation's Poet Laureate Program and Intercity Transit are launching a new collaborative project, "Poetry Rides the Bus." Through this project, transit riders have the opportunity to discover 22 different poems, written by local community members, which are on display at bus stops across the City of Olympia and inside the 71-bus fleet run by Intercity Transit.

Intercity Transit Closed Christmas & New Year's Days

Intercity Transit will be closed on Christmas Day, Monday, Dec. 25 and New Year's Day, Monday, Jan. 1. Regular local, Express, Dial-A-Lift and Village Vans will not be in service. Customer service and the business office will also be closed. We will operate on normal Sunday schedules Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Normal operations will resume after the holidays on Tuesday, Dec. 26 and Tuesday, Jan. 2.
