The Intercity Transit Authority will conduct a special meeting on Friday, June 12, 2026, for the purpose of conducting a Board Planning Retreat. The meeting will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lacey Community Center, 6729 Pacific Ave SE, Olympia, WA.

Every June, Washington state recognizes Ride Transit Month to affirm the benefits of public transportation in our communities. This year, Thurston Regional Planning Council (TRPC) and Intercity Transit are celebrating with the Ride the Rainbow sweepstakes.
At their May 20, 2026, meeting, the Intercity Transit Authority awarded retired vanpool vans to four organizations through a competitive application and review process. Now in its 23rd year, the Intercity Transit (IT) Van Grant program has awarded 88 former vanpool vehicles to community organizations serving Intercity Transit’s service area (Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater, Yelm, and their urban growth areas).

Customer Service will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. to assist customers. The administrative office will be closed, and Village Vans will not provide service on the holiday.
Intercity Transit invites the public to comment on transit projects identified in the annual update of the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the period 2027-2030. Identifying projects in the local agency TIP is a requirement for the agency to utilize Federal funding.

The legislation creating Public Transit Benefit Areas (PTBA), RCW 36.57A.055, requires the composition review of the governing body of the PTBA every four years. As provided in RCW 36.57A.055, this review must be conducted at a special meeting of the county legislative authority and an elected representative of each city within the PTBA boundaries.

Intercity Transit Authority Moves to Monthly Meeting Schedule Beginning April 2026
The Intercity Transit Authority (ITA) passed a resolution reducing the number of ITA meetings per month. Effective April 1, 2026, the ITA now meets once a month on the 3rd Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. For more details visit https://www.intercitytransit.com/agency/transit-authority/meetings.
