Intercity Transit received funding through Congresswoman Strickland’s Community Project Funding Requests and WSDOT’s Regional Mobility Grant Program. These grants will support the renovation and enhancement of 147 existing bus stops located within the Public Transportation Benefit Area’s local jurisdictions’ rights-of-way.
Starting Sunday, May 3, 2026, Intercity Transit will implement a system redesign. With this change, we will be increasing service hours by 18,000 a year. This will mark the final step in our three-phase process; altogether these changes represent an annual increase of 40,000 service hours, a 14 percent increase over our 2024 service hours.
The season’s short, dark days make pedestrians and bicyclists less visible to drivers. With the end of daylight savings, many of us travel when it's dark outside. Our drivers make extra efforts to watch for riders waiting at unlit bus stops, but they need your help! As one of our Operators put it, "when riding at night—wear something bright—flash a light!”
