Intercity Transit proposes September 2020 service changes

Intercity Transit will conduct a public hearing Wednesday, June 3, 2020, 5:30 p.m. at the business office, 526 Pattison St. SE in Olympia, if allowable under the public meeting guidance of the “Safe Start Washington: A Phased Approach to Recovery.” The hearing is to receive public comment on proposed Intercity Transit bus route and schedule changes for possible implementation on September 20, 2020.

A Note Regarding Concerns About The Advanced Reservation System

Operating a public transit system under the constraints of a pandemic and navigating the impacts has been a challenge. Currently, about 34% of our front-line staff are off work due to COVID-19-related issues. Thankfully, we have not had anyone on the job test positive. We know transit employees at other systems have tested positive. Sadly, many agencies have reported serious illnesses and deaths among their co-workers.

Intercity Transit is monitoring novel coronavirus developments

Intercity Transit is closely monitoring developments with respect to COVID-19 (coronavirus). The safety of our customers and our employees is our top priority and we are following the professional guidance of our public health officials. Preventing future cases requires all of us to do our part.

Along with cleaning our buses nightly, we are researching additional cleaning protocols.
