Intercity Transit is an inexpensive and effective way to take your group on a field trip. Whether for a classroom or a social outing, give us a call.

How do I Request a Field Trip?

Contact Customer Service by email, or call 360-786-1881.

How do I Pay for the Trip?

You can purchase daily passes or ticket booklets in advance of your trip by contacting Customer Service, preferably 24-hours in advance. You may pay by check, cash, Visa, or Mastercard at our Customer Service office, 222 Washington Street NE, Olympia.

Once you pay, we will issue you your passes, which are good for one day.

What is the Fare?

We charge the regular fare of $2.50 per passenger for a daily pass (good for unlimited rides) or $1.25 for single rides. Regional Reduced Pass Permit holders pay $.50 for a single ride or $1.00 for a daily pass. Discounted fares are not offered for groups. Children five and under ride for free.

How Many People can I Take?

Generally, we recommend groups be no larger than 20 people per bus, including chaperones. Your group may have to divide up and take two trips depending on the size of the group and the number of passengers already on the bus. The wait for another bus could be 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the route.

What if I Need to Cancel?

If you must cancel, we will work with you to reschedule your trip. If you have already paid for the trip and it cannot be rescheduled, we will issue you a refund.

What Else do I Need to Know?

If this is a school field trip, please keep your students in sight and near you at all times. To make your trip a safe and enjoyable experience for all, please share the following riding tips with your students and chaperones:

  • Your group is sharing the bus with other passengers. Please be quiet and respectful of them.
  • Never cross in front of an Intercity Transit bus unless it is stopped at a traffic light. While students can cross the street in front of a school bus that is stopped and has flashing red lights, no one should ever cross in front of an Intercity Transit bus because oncoming motorists may not see them.

Thank you for using Intercity Transit for your field trip.
