Earn-A-Bike classes teach youth in Thurston County essential bicycle safety and maintenance skills to help prepare them to ride their bicycle independently. Students who complete the class earn a refurbished bicycle and new helmet.
Summer Earn-A-Bike Classes
We are partnering with the City of Olympia to offer in-person Earn-A-Bike classes July through August 2023. Students will learn through a series of hands-on activities and group bicycle rides on city streets. Intercity Transit provides each student with a refurbished bicycle and new helmet to use during the class. Students who complete the course earn their bicycle and helmet and can take it home on the final day of class. If students are unable to transport their bicycle home, Intercity Transit can deliver. The class is open to beginner bicycle riders, although students need to know how to ride a bicycle to participate.
Classes meet at the Olympia Transit Center located at 222 State St. SE in downtown Olympia. All Thurston County youth ages 11 - 15 can participate. Classes are Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. There is a $5 registration fee. If this is a burden, please contact us at walknroll@intercitytransit.com.
A student can register through the city of Olympia.
