Pierce Transit Stops Issuing Paper Transfers for Service With Other Providers
Beginning Saturday, December 6, Pierce Transit discontinued their paper transfer system, which allowed riders to use paper transfers to transfer between bus routes and as partial fare on other transit systems. Effective with this change, Intercity Transit Express routes no longer carry, issue, or accept Pierce Transit transfers. Express riders going to or coming from Pierce Transit service must pay full fare or buy an Intercity Transit Express Monthly Pass that provides a discounted rate. Please note that the Central Puget Sound ORCA card is not valid on Intercity Transit’s Express service unless it qualifies as a “Regional Reduced Fare Permit” for qualified transit customers. For more information on Pierce Transit’s new fare structure please, see their Web page or call Customer Service: 253.581.8000.
